When Microsoft publishes a new release wave plan, it is simply too much for any one person to take in. Fortunately, members of the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform community are always ready and willing to share their views on the upcoming updates, usually with a particular eye to their own areas of focus.

Let's review at some of the earliest reactions to 2022 release wave 1, as characterized by Microsoft business applications community contributors.

On the UP Podcast, hosts Megan V. Walker and Lisa Crosbie, each identified several new features. Among their highlights, Walker noted the ability to hyper-personalize content with conditional content and rules for variations in Dynamics 365 Marketing. Other Marketing features she noted include the ability to use predefined dynamic text and reusable content fragments in emails.

The pair both took note of the ability to trigger customer journeys in Marketing based on interactions in any Dynamics 365 app (and the related table change events in Dataverse).


"We're hoping that we can do something like when a new record is created, or when an attribute is changed maybe from one value on an option set choice to another…rather than having to build an event trigger and then use Power Automate to run and gather stuff, we'll be able to do this with a couple of clicks and that anyone will be able to do it," Walker said in a related video.
