The upgrade tools are (according to MS) improved a lot by detecting more conflict types and the fact that the compare tool can show changes between two different versions of an element. This is also available in a normal development process (not an upgrade) through the use of the MorphX version control.
Another cool upgrade tool is the estimation report that can be executed after the upgrade project has been created. The report will then give you an estimate of how much time the code upgrade will take. You can set the fixed values for how much time each typical manual process during an upgrade take, so that the report has a set of base-figures.
Since I’m working with the pre-release on a virtual pc, I have been unable to test the upgrade-features myself and have only had the documentation and source code to look at.
