Using the ledger allocation rule offset in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations

On the Encore Business Solutions blog, Britt Blum stated that there may be times when you want to reallocate expenses in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to different departments but you still want to see the totals of the original expenses in every account on your financial statements
Did you know the source account established in your ledger allocation rule does not have to be the same account used to offset the destination postings in your ledger allocation journal?

Britt pointed out that in the ledger allocation rule setup, you can have the offset account be the source account or any other general ledger account that you want,

You can find out how to do that here.

How to set up demo users in D365FO

On Dynamicspedia by André Arnaud de Calavon, Calavon noted that some time ago, he wrote a blog post explaining how you can change some settings on the Contoso demo users and login using the original credentials.
Like many other things, there was a change done by Microsoft. As partners and customers, we were not allowed anymore to use the Azure AD credentials from Microsoft Contoso demo users. Microsoft on their turn provided a blog which guides you to reuse the users with credentials from your own Azure Active Directory.

That meant it took Calavon some time to set up the users he wanted to use for demos or testing every time he had to deploy a new environment. So he decided to write a script using Microsoft Flow to solve the problem.

You can read about how to set up demo users in D365FO and download the script so you can use it for your own environments here.
